Deep Sky Studio is the tool I built after framing one too many astrophotos by hand in an image editor. It runs entirely in your browser — choose a PNG or JPG, and it wraps it in a custom-coloured border, drops in a caption with your exposure details, and adds a half-visible watermark in whichever corner you like.
You get a full colour wheel for the border itself, four optional textures (star field, nebula, Milky Way or constellation lines) to give the mat some depth, and an optional 3D bevel edge so the frame reads as a physical object rather than a flat rectangle. Borders run anywhere from 100 to 400 pixels, and every control updates the live preview instantly.
Captions and watermarks each get their own font picker — 35 fonts in total, from clean sans-serifs to the kind of script you'd want on a gallery print — plus independent size, alignment and colour controls. When it looks right, save as a lossless PNG or a smaller JPG.
Nothing you upload is ever sent anywhere. The whole process runs on the HTML canvas in your own browser tab, so your original photo and the framed result both stay on your device the entire time.
